International Master in Soils and Global Change (IMSOGLO)

This study programme is only available in German. --> All students will start at UGent. After the first semester the students will have a basic overview of soil sciences and will be ready for one of the two specialisations that each cover the next three semesters. Depending on their chosen specialisation (A or B) the students will either move to BOKU for the 2nd semester (specialisation in “Soil biogeochemistry & global change”) or stay at UGent (specialisation in “Physical land resources & global change”). The first modules of both specialisations contain both theoretical classes and practical exercises, field trips and excursions. At BOKU the students will complete the module "Sustainable land management" in the second semester of Specialisation A. The joint summer activity is offered during the summer break between the second and the third semester. Alternatingly, field work in China and a summer school at BOKU are organised. The three ETCS credits that the students can obtain by successfully participating in the joint summer activity are part of the mandatory curriculum of the second semester.
