Students are given access to a network of research and practice, nationally and internationally, for the completion of their doctoral thesis. The concept of sports medicine is understood in broad terms thematically to include, among other things, research in competitive and recreational sports as well as fitness and exercise. One focus of the thesis topics is on mountain medicine. The studies are complemented by research projects from the fields of health tourism and the recreational sciences.
